its so sad how women today are suffering through unsafe methods all in order to become what other people think is beautiful. i believe we need to be secure in ourselves and i believe it needs to be done now. something needs to hit home for these ladies out there that are doing such things as bleaching their skin, straightening their hair, wearing contacts and developing eating disorders just to reach a standard of beauty that they may never achieve! frankly something needs to be realized here, and its that you are who you are and you need to love it. please ladies, let’s stop torturing ourselves. its time for a change to be made. oh and just to make a point (especially to this winston guy that keeps posting outrageous comments on my video) this was a comment reply that i was trying to post to his claim that there are no beautiful dark skinned celebrities well to that i say: Gabrielle Union, Nia Long, Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell, Keisha Knight Pulliam, and thats just to name a few. now, take a look at this picture: s50.photobucket.com beautiful girl, no? now take a look at THIS picture: s50.photobucket.com do you get the point yet winston??? yea, thought so. everyone else, please, feel free to comment!

However, EVERYONE has insecurities, whether they want to admit it or not. And people judging and telling you what you shouldn’t do is just as bad as the media telling you what you should. Caucasians tan their skin, are they wrong for that? I don’t think so. If it makes you feel better about yourself, go ahead. At the end of the day you are YOU, and only you. If somebody wants to run and get their skin lightened or injected, let them. It’s not your life, why should you care? .. Just my thoughts.

@MsLoren10 Lmao, funny, but I agree.
I do not think it makes you a bad person to want to make yourself more beautiful. Should nobody wear makeup? I don’t personally (Too much work), but I don’t think there is ANYTHING wrong with covering up your flaws.
And to be honest, if I had a dark scar on my face, I’d run to the store and buy the most expensive product available to try to get rid of it. There is nothing wrong with trying to make yourself look better. I do think surgery is too much though.

That’s an interesting video and I agree with you that the media do tend to favour lighter or mixed race celebrities/presenters rather than darker skinned celebrities and the insecurities or low self esteem of the individuals also contributes to the dislike of their own darker complexion, and this problem also affects black males. But also I’m a black male and I admit I that have started using a face scrub product to try and reduce my shaving marks around my jaws and neck area and my patchy skin.

I think some of the sexiest people out there are the ones with dark skin who ooze confidence and swag. I really don’t get how people can just completely overlook how gorgeous a woman is or how handsome a man is and see only color. I just find it completely ridiculous. But I think everyone should accept themselves the way they are. If you go bleaching your skin, you’re gonna look unnatural, and that’s NEVER sexy.

@jazzytease03 well I could say the same for a lot of other races as well, White people are afraid of being really pale, so they tan A LOT, when you go to the beach all you see is white people tanning and it’s usually kids in the water…the point is every race has a sad way of making themseleves look beautiful.WHITE, BLACK, ASIAN, NATIVE AMERICAN, MEXICAN….that’s just the way this world is…

@MsLoren10 and what is so wrong with wanting to being darker than who u are? Would u say the same thing if someone wanted to be lighter than who they are, no. That’s the point. People (black people specifically) are so scared about being darker. That is why there are bleaching creams and it is so sad.

lack, white ,hatever. women are beautiful. We have breasts that feed. We bleed but we’re unharmed. We have always and forever been seen as sensual and seductive. I’m white but see black skinned women as beautiful. Sure we can say that pressure tells us that one image is better than another. But to be honest if you feel good when you straighten your hair tan, bleach, etc etc . do what you like. be what you like. Each to their own. Its not always political and social .

Everyone white and black has a goal.. lighter people tan to get a nice complexion and darker people use brightening serums to get a carmel look. frist of all its not called bleaching unless it has hydriquione in it and there are way more natural lightening serums then bleaching. its great tat u wanna be all natural beauty about everything thats great.do you!! we are indiviuals and in our short life time we wanna achieve what we think is perfection! tanning is moring harmful than lightening

.just relax their hair so it’s easier to maintain and style E) some people always seem to opt for an neagtive reality when reality is as diverse as one person is to the next. Now slavery is and was an appaling act, that we should not have to answer for, I would not nor would most ask a rape victim how was it like to be rape, she is the the victim, surely it should be the assaulter that should be the one on trail. I refuse 2 play any part in anyones overwhelming nation dividing anchoring guilt.

What people do not seem to understand is the complexities of the mind which is a very thin line and and it is not as black or as white as it may seem. A) There is a lot of black women that are proud in and outside the USA of themselves B) and may just use even tone creams the way they use foundation to give a floorless finish not because they want to be white or lighter C) they may want to be slimmer because they admire fashion and clothes and want a more stream line figure D) they may….TBC

Vitamin E is a good natural way to even the skin tone. When you talk about these issues rather then just repeat what history has done try to offer actions on how to solve it. The way you do it is by starting with yourself. Do not waste your time solving all other black women’s issues just show people how you’ve done it if people would like to follow suit, great ! it they don’t do not sweat it, life is far to short. I am a black female of 26 living in the UK TBC

@sgsfdgfsdfsdfsddf
I know about the benefits of the sun and the fact that it provides vitamin D. But, I stated earlier, you incompetent white piece of shit, your natural skin tone is what it is NATURALLY; not altered by the sun, or any other chemicals/topical creams, etc. If your skin is becoming darker, this indicates damage.
I’m pretty sure you’re white trash and therefore can’t afford higher learning…so at the very least, I wold ask you use your tiny brain to open a book and read it.

@thefreashking I know blacks are against knowledge and worship crime. you sold each other into slavery and you only complain about the white man… lol
dont believe EVERY history book… AFrican countries had legal slaves until 1970′s whites stopped it though
but the real question is the only reason you can say you wont believe it is because blacks could not read and write… lol

@blahblahblahman wrong sun provides vitamin D… I think maybe you misread and forgot the word “Prolonged”? like Many niggers do… but at least you can actually read a language.
and do you know what natural means? it means that if you go in the sun your skin naturally gets darker? are you stupid?
