What’s in Your Anti-aging Skin Cream? You Really Need to Know

26 Jan

An anti aging skin cream must have the correct ingredients to give your skin that smooth radiant glow. Most anti-aging creams don’t even  come close to delivering what your skin needs. Your skin needs new collagen and elastin.  It needs new cells and fibers.  Let me show you what you need in anti aging cream to regain that smooth beautiful look.  Also I’ll show you some ingredients to avoid.

As I mentioned, to get that new fresh look from your anti aging skin cream you need collagen and elastin.  As we get older we get less.  Your body needs to produce new elastin and collagen.  When it does those terrible wrinkles slowly begin to leave.  Then in time that new, fresh, younger looking face begins to appear

Skin’s Building Blocks

Not all proteins are alike but they are referred to as the building blocks of the skin.  On such protein is called Keratin.  If Keratin  isn’t constructed or made the right way,  it will not penetrate the skin.  Therefore, most skin care products contain a useless type of “keratin”. The correct type of keratin must be in the anti aging skin cream or it is worthless. How do we find the correct type of keratin?

Ingredients that Work

Functional Keratin, also known as, Cynergy TK is a protein when added to an anti aging cream helps remove wrinkles.  It is the only type that I found that really works. Other companies claim to have keratin but it is usually from the wrong source therefore doesn’t work.

From the Sea of Japan comes an ingredient that is a must for anti aging skin creams.  It is called Wakame.  Wakame is an algae or sea kelp that has a lot of good ingredients such as, potassium, B vitamins, iron, sodium and calcium.

A laboratory analysis of the sea kelp found that a component in it helps promote smooth and younger looking skin. And that is what anti aging creams are supposed to do.

As a extra bonus Wakame is an excellent antioxidant which will successfully fight free radicals.  It will also help increase the skin’s protein level.

Antioxidants

Usually we think of antioxidants coming with the vitamins we take.  But since free radicals damage skin cells it is very beneficial to include them in the skin cream.

Antioxidants like wakame, vitamin E and CoQ10 should be in anti-aging skin creams.  But they also should be natural not some synthetic filler.

Special, Effective Formula

Nano-lipobelle is a special ‘nano-emulsion’ form of CoQ10, which PENETRATES DEEPLY into your skin.  It is created in such a way that it will penetrate through seven layers of skin.  It contains both COQ10 and vitamin E in a special emulsion created specially for use as an anti-aging skin cream.  How effective is Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 in skin care?  When applied to your skin, Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 can produce quite a dramatic anti-wrinkle effect, which has been confirmed by scientific studies. This is due to its ability to increase collagen and elastin production in the skin.

Ingredients to Avoid

Briefly, let’s look at a few of the things that an anti-aging skin cream should not contain:
-alcohol because it is drying. (stearyl and cetearyl alcohol are fine. They are waxes and have nothing in common with the alcohols that cause skin problems.)
-fragrance because it can be irritating.
-sunscreen because it alone does not reduce the risk of skin cancer and some compounds are hazardous.
-parabens because they are cancer causing suspects.
-paraffin wax or mineral oil because they clog the pores and strip natural oils, leading to dryness.

Our skin is our largest organ.  We need to be careful what touches it since whatever does could end up in our blood.  This is a common sense health precaution. If you wouldn’t eat it don’t put it on your skin.  Use only natural ingredients in your anti-aging skin care creams. For more information please see my website.  – Thanks, Margaret Bell

5 Things You Must Know Before Buying Men’s Skin Care Products

24 Jan

Men have been notorious of being careless with their skin. Their skin care regimens seldom go beyond soap and water.

However, lately there has been increased awareness among men about the needs and requirements of their skin and this has fuelled a market segment consisting of special skin care products for men. There is such an extensive range of men’s skin care products available in the market that it gets difficult sometimes to make a sane choice.

While some prefer to try out a variety of skin care products to see what works for them, others stick to one particular product and hope it does the trick. Choosing skin care products that work well for your particular skin can be a daunting task. This is because there is plethora of options available, all of them claiming to be the best and promising to do wonders to the skin. In midst of all these, how do you know what the best skin care product is for you.

Here are 5 points you should consider while buying skin care products for men.

Know Your Skin Type
Before you go about finding skin care products, you should know what exactly your skin needs. And this can only be assessed by knowing your skin type. Is it normal, dry, oily, combination or sensitive? Skin care products are designed to address the specific requirements of the various types of skin. For example, dry skin needs more moisture, oily skin needs controlled exfoliation, acne prone skin needs bacteria fighting ingredients that heal acne and so on. Determining your skin type will let you know what skin care products best suit you.

Get a Men’s Cleanser
Cleansers are a very important part of the skin care regimen. And since men’s skin is intrinsically different from women’s they need special cleansers designed for their specific gender. Men generally have bigger skin pores than women and accumulate comparatively more dirt and debris. Thus they need a tougher cleanser that can flush out the toxins and clean the skin well.

Include a Toner & Moisturizer in your Regimen

Most people fail to realize the importance of toners in the skin care regimen and prefer not to use it at all. Men’s skin succumbeds to harsh treatments like shaving and this disrupts the pH balance of the skin. Toners not only help balance the pH levels of the skin but also ensure that the skin pores are absolutely clean and no residue of cleanser is left behind.
Additionally, when the skin is stripped ofnatural moistures due to shaving and cleansing, using a moisturizer hydrates the skin and restores the lost moisture. However, if you have oily or acneic skin, use a lightweight oil-free moisturizer. Moisturizers relieve skin dryness and prevent premature aging of the skin and keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay.

Buy Skin Treatment Products
If you have severe skin conditions like acne, anti-aging concerns or so on, make sure you buy specialized skin treatment products rather than general skin care products. This is because treatment products address specific skin concerns, go to the root level of the problem and cure the same.

Obagi Clenziderm M.D. Acne Therapeutic System for Normal to Oily Skin – It is a three step system that identifies and treats the primary causes of acne and help promote a clear skin. The system includes:

Obagi Daily Care Foaming Cleanser (4 fl. oz) – To clean off all the dirt and debris from the skin and reveal brighter skin from within
Obagi Pore Therapy (4 fl oz) – To clean the skin pores of dirt and oil residues
Obagi Serum Gel (1.8 fl oz) – To deep cleanse and treat acne with benzoyl peroxide

Obagi Clenziderm M.D. Acne Therapeutic System for Normal to Dry Skin is the same thing as above but it treats acne concerns on normal and dry skin types. The system includes:

Obagi Daily Care Cream Cleanser (6.5 fl oz) – To remove the excessive oil residues and dirt
Obagi Therapeutic Lotion (1.6 fl. oz.) – To remove acne and prevent further breakouts and inflammations
Obagi Therapeutic Moisturizer (1.7 fl oz) – To moisturize and hydrate your skin

Buy Suitable Shaving Products
Make sure the shaving products that you buy suit your epidermis type and care for your specific skin condition. Shaving products generally are comprised of three major components – Pre-Shave, Shaving Creams and Aftershave. All these products have moisturizing and conditioning agents that hydrate the skin and enhance its quality.

What You Need to Know About Acne Skin Care Part II

31 Dec

Adult acne is one of the most frustrating problems in a successful cleansing skin care program.

With so many treatment options for acne, how do you know which one to use? If there is a good thing about acne, it’s that there are several options and the key is to find the right combination of cleansing skin care, over-the-counter medications and, finally, advanced physician-only treatment plans.

Acne sufferers should keep in mind that if they don’t see improvement with cleansing and over-the-counter products within three months, they should seek professional skin care advice; this also goes if they have cysts or scarring.

It may sound too good to be true but several studies now show a connection between taking vitamin C orally and the prevention of acne. It’s well documented that vitamin C is considered by many to be a super vitamin and plays a key role in immunity and infection prevention. In order to get the possible anti-bacterial benefits of vitamin C that may be available to prevent acne breakouts, physicians recommend taking 1,000-1,600 mg. three times a day.

As an all-natural supplement program, a combination of anti-inflammatory supplements, like vitamin E, zinc, burdock root, and vitamin C, tend to be more effective synergistically than just one supplement alone.

The most effective program starts with a good cleansing skin care program. The most common over-the-counter acne treatment, especially for adult acne, is benzoyl peroxide. As the basic acne skin care product, it is often recommended by skin care experts and is available in concentrations ranging from 2½%-10%. As an acne skin care agent, benzoyl peroxide actually slows the growth of bacteria and reduces inflammation.

Benzoyl peroxide alone can clear up mild, non-inflammatory blackheads and whiteheads within a month or two.

Benzoyl peroxide, however, has side effects as it kills the bacteria that may dry up excess sebum and lead to redness, peeling, and burning. Those with sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate benzoyl peroxide; and it should be used as part of an acne skin care program nightly.

The next product that can be used at home as part of an adult acne skin care program are blue lights featuring an ANSR beam, which uses a blue light to kill bacteria and red light to facilitate the healing process. An effective cleansing skin care program also has a cleanser that exfoliates the skin to prevent clogged pores.

It must be reinforced that a basic cleansing skin care regimen is mandatory for clear skin and the best would include all-natural anti aging skin care lotions with sun protection.

Natural Skin Care- Ladies Find How You are Damaging Your Skin Everyday and You Don’t Even Know it and What You Can Do About it

25 Dec

There is a whole industry that caters to keeping skin moist, smooth and young looking. What if you could get those kind of results without any kind of lotions or treatments at all. Well there is a way, stop taking a shower.

Sounds kind of crazy does’nt it? Now I don’t mean stop taking a shower all together, but stop taking the kind of shower you are taking right now with municipally treated water. The kind of water that comes out of the faucet that is supposedly clean and healthy for you to drink and shower in. Believe me the water coming out of your faucet is totally and completely toxic filled with hundreds of chemicals that do not belong in your body or on your skin.

Is a matter of fact taking a shower in toxic water may even be more dangerous to your health because the water is going through your pores and you are inhaling it through your lungs. This may have potential side effects to people who suffer from asthma. I could go on about the dangerous effects on your health taking a toxic shower, but you can do your own research on this topic.

Now let’s get back to your skin.

It is well documented that chlorine dries out your skin and that it is the chemical that is most abundant in tap water. You may even be able to smell the chlorine in the water. I can’t even name all the chemicals in water there are hundreds. And if you notice the water is also more heavy than filtered water due to the chemicals.

All of this going onto your skin making it more dry, less smooth and less healthy. So if you are wondering why your skin is not as smooth as you would like it, this is why. People spend millions on skin care lotions and treatments fighting a losing battle. When all you have to do is take a cleaner shower. So the question is how do you do that? Well I am glad you asked.

Did You Know This About Collagen Skin Care?

23 Dec

Although they are popular, collagen skin care creams are not effective for reducing wrinkles or sagging. The only collagen treatments that are effective are those conducted by a cosmetic surgeon, in which the protein is injected directly into the tissue beneath the skin.

Even the makers of collagen skin care products are not specific about exactly what the ingredient does for you. They are very specific about other ingredients. Elastin, for example, is said to promote wound healing. Zinc promotes collagen synthesis in the dermis. Beta glucan from oats appears to stimulate skin cells to produce pro-collagen molecules.

Companies that don’t make collagen treatments provide information about what other compounds do, and in some cases, they provide links to published clinical studies. Avocado oil, for example, was shown to increase the amount of pro-collagen molecules present in the skin. Wakame kelp extracts have been shown to inhibit Hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, which is partially responsible for the skin’s soft, but firm nature.

If collagen treatments do improve the skin’s appearance, it is likely due to the other compounds included in the treatment. The skin’s cells can’t pick up the protein and use it for anything.

I have done a lot of research on the subject and I cannot seem to find a single reliable source promoting the benefits of a collagen skin care cream. I have found numerous studies that support the use of a specific form of keratin.

Keratin is the primary protein found in the epidermis, that’s the layer that we see. Collagens are found in the dermis, four or five layers down. Until collagen treatments became popular, there were lots of healing lotions on the market that contained keratin, but they weren’t that effective either.

The processes used to hydrolyze or make either of the proteins soluble also destroy their bio-activity. A company called KERATEC, using a number of patented processes, has learned how to hydrolyze keratin, without destroying its bio-activity. In other words, the skin’s cells can use it and they do.

Creams containing KERATEC’s keratin have been shown to stimulate the production of new skin cells, one of the processes that seem to slow down, as we age. Many companies promote the idea of using weak acid or exfoliants to peel of some of the damaged cells in the outermost layers. But, stimulating the production of more cells to replace those that are damaged is a safer and gentler option.

Once the cells are formed, they gradually work their way up to the surface, pushing out those in the outermost layer. The process is a lot more effective than a collagen skin care treatment.

If you can find a night cream that contains KERATEC’s keratin and avocado oil, you should see real results in just a few days. If it also contains Shea butter, your skin will become softer, smoother and healthier looking in just a few short weeks. Say goodbye to collagen treatments and collagen skin care lotions. They just don’t work. Please take a look at my website now.

Does anyone know if Mederma skin care lotion really works?

05 Dec

I have some old scars resulting from the severe acne I used to have as a teenager. I’ve seen Mederma advertised on TV and in drug stores, and I’m tempted to try it before trying surgery. Does anyone know if it really works?
